3-day private tour to the Salar de Uyuni, starting and ending in San Pedro de Atacama.

We start our tour from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama passing through the border between Chile and Bolivia then, we will begin our tour in the different tourist attractions of the Bolivian Altiplano, such as the Blanca and Verde lagoons, and the Sol de Mañana Geysers. In addition, we will visit the Laguna Colorada and Italia Perdida. Here we will go through the labyrinths of rocks that the wind has formed for hundreds of years. We will pass through the Vinto Lagoon and the Anaconda Canyon viewpoint, then we will arrive at San Juan del Rosario. The next day very early in the morning, we went to the Salar de Uyuni and got ready to see the sunrise. Then we will continue our journey inside the salt flat to Incahuasi Island, where we can take a walk to see the salt lake from the heights. Later we will pass by the Salt Museum and the Dakar Monument, before visiting Colchani. We will also visit the train cemetery before arriving in Uyuni, where we will have lunch. After that, we will continue to Villamar, where we will spend our second night. On the third day we will start our day very early and visit the tourist attractions of this part of the route, we will see the Laguna Colorada, we will visit the Sol de Mañana Geysers and the Polques Hot Springs, as well as the Blanca and Verde lagoons, near the Licancabur Volcano. and we will have the last views near the mountain range, before crossing into Chilean territory. Then we will take the shared transport to get to San Pedro de Atacama, where we will end our tour.

· Beiginning: Day 1 at 07:00 am at your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.
· End: Day 3 at 1:00 pm in San Pedro de Atacama´s downtown.
DAY 1:
We will pick you up at your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama to go to the border between Chile and Bolivia in our shared transportation. After the customs procedures, we will begin our tour in private transportation that will take us to see different tourist attractions of the Bolivian Altiplano, like the Blanca and Verde lagoons, and the Sol de Mañana Geysers. In addition, we will visit the Colorada Lagoon and Italia Perdida. Here we will go over the rock mazes that the wind has formed during hundreds of years. Then, we will pass by the Vinto Lagoon and the Anaconda Canyon viewpoint, from where we will have a panoramic view from the heights of a very peculiar landscape in the middle of the desert. After this long day, we will arrive to San Juan del Rosario, where we will have our dinners and get rest to continue the next day.
DAY 2:
We will leave very early in the morning, to enter the Uyuni Salt Flat and get installed to see the sunrise. After the first lights of the morning and use the landscape to make pictures, we will continue our tour inside the salt flat to the Incahuasi Island, where we will be able to get out of the vehicle and make a walking by the marked track. This will allow us to see the salt flat from the heights and have a better perspective of the big area that it covers. Later, we will pass by the Salt Museum and the Dakar Monument, before visiting Colchani. We will also visit the train cemetery before reaching Uyuni, where we will be able to get lunch. After that, we will continue to Villamar, where we will spend our second night.
DAY 3:
We will begin our day early in the morning to make small stops in the tourist attractions in this part of the route. The first thing that we will see is the Colorada Lagoon. Then, we will visit the Sol de Mañana Geysers and the Polques Hot Springs. Before getting to the border, we will pass by the Blanca and Verde lagoons, near the Licancabur Volcano and we will have the last views close to the mountain range, before crossing to Chilean territory. After the border procedures, we will take the shared transportation to arrive to San Pedro de Atacama, where we will finish our tour.

  • Water (1 liter per person for the first day. You can buy it on the road durign the rest of the tour).
  • Passport or ID card. If you are a foreign resident in Chile, you should bring both to present them at customs.

Restrictions

    Minimum age of 7 required.
    Not recommended for people suffering from high blood pressure, heart failure, asthma, or other similar ailments, for whom visiting places above 4,000 meters (13,123 ft.) of altitude may present a health risk (the tour is done mostly above 4,000 m of altitude, even reaching up to 4,850 meters (15,912 ft.) of altitude on one of the days of the tour).
    Passengers over the age of 65 must present a medical certificate authorizing them to travel to an altitude above 4,000 meters.
    Not allowed for pregnant women.
    Resident in Chile Venezuelan passengers will be able to make the tour only if they have permanent residence in the country.

*The high season applies from December to March, on July, on September and national holidays (long weekends). Low season, meanwhile, applies from April to June, on August and from October to November, except long weekends. Check seasonal prices

This is a referential itinerary. The route to get to the salt flat, the places visited, the indicated order, and the end time will always be subject to change according to weather conditions, road conditions, unforseen events, and accommodation availability. The itinerary is confirmed in the briefing given by the supplier the day before the start of the activity. However, the itinerary still could be modified due to the occurrence of the aformentioned situations once the tour has already begun. Important: Your passport must have 6-month validity at the time of entry. If entering Bolivia from Peru then the passport you use must be the same passport used to enter Peru. If you have dual citizenship, you cannot switch passports at the Bolivian Border. You may also need a visa if you are a passport holder from countries from Group 2 or Group 3.
