Day 1: Puerto Maldonado / 4x4 trip / Lodge

  • Your guide will be waiting at the airport and / or bus terminal and take you to our office located about 5 minutes away from the city of Puerto Maldonado. Here you can do some last-minute shopping for things you could have forgotten such as batteries or poncho. Then we begin a trip in a 4x4 truck for 2 hours to get to the Philadelphia community. From there we will travel in a motor boat along the Tambopata River for a few minutes until a lodge, where we stay for the night to visit the Collpa "The chuncho". After arrival at the lodge and checking in, we will begin a walk that will be an introduction to the Amazon, where our guide will explain the flora and fauna that inhabit here. Then we will return for dinner. After dinner, there will be a night walk to see the nocturnal animals.

Day 2: Clay lick Macaws Chuncho
  • We get up early at 5:00 am. Traveling in a motor boat up the river Tambopata River for about an hour to see the sunrise, the scenery is spectacular have the possibility to see a jaguar or perhaps an anaconda, capybara, etc. on the banks of our Tambopata National Reserve. Arriving at our destination, Collpa "Chuncho" we will find a show of parrots and macaws and learn the reasons why these birds, and many other mammals need the clay on this wall in their daily diet all year. It's a spectacular show that entertains us from 6:00 am to 11:00 approx. Our delicious breakfast will be in front of the Collpa. Return to the lodge having already finished our activity, we will have a short visit at the checkpoint to learn more in a small museum located here. We continue to our lodge for lunch, and then we get ready to return to Puerto Maldonado, and then take a boat to travel the Madre de Dios River for 10 minutes until our next lodge, "Amazon Lodge Tambopata" after settling, visit the island of monkeys, alligators watching, spend the night in our comfortable lodge.

Day 3: Parrot Clay lick / Lake Sandoval
  • Very early in the morning at 5:00 am we will visit the parrot clay lick the Cachuela, a journey of about 50 minutes, where you can see a variety of species of parrots gather in the wall of the Madre de Dios River to eat clay in a colorful spectacle of flight and cries, an experience you will never forget. Then return to the lodge for breakfast, we then prepare to visit Lake Sandoval all day, from our lodge will travel 10 minutes by boat to reach the shores of the harbor on Lake Sandoval, where we will enter into the Tambopata Reserve "Lago Sandoval" in a walk of about 1 hour, then arrive at the lake where we will take a canoe paddle to stroll through this beautiful lake that is home to many birds and animals.

Day 4: Lodge / Puerto Maldonado
  • After breakfast, you will travel by motorized canoe to Puerto Maldonado, and from there to the airport.
